Gilbert Fleitas

Gil Fleitas joined Pacific Union in April 2002 to partner with top producer Steven Mavromihalis. In addition, he is the co-founder of Byzantium Properties, a San Francisco based real estate private equity firm. Supported by a highly specialized staff, Gil and Steven blend their complementary skill sets into one of the company’s most successful commercial and residential brokerage practices. Working in true business partnership, their team provides each client with highly individualized service.

Early in his career, Gil practiced real estate, corporate and environmental law with a large New York City law firm. He went on to Trammell Crow Company, where he spent 14 years as a Partner and Managing Director and was involved in all aspects of real estate development for clients such as Mobil, Exxon, PeopleSoft, United Healthcare and Travelers Insurance. Upon retirement from Trammell Crow in 1999, Gil spent three years pursuing volunteer opportunities with a social benefit – working with start-ups such as GreenHome.com (environmentally sound products) and AngelPoints.com (focused on increasing the value of volunteerism).

Gil continues his active community involvement, serving as the President of the Board of the Homeless Prenatal Program, a nonprofit serving the needs of homeless pregnant women and their families. He is a Founding Board Member of Social Venture Partners-Bay, a Bay Area investment fund that works with social entrepreneurs and non-profits. Gil is also the recipient of a 3-year fellowship with the Community Technology Foundation of California aimed at bridging the Digital Divide that negatively impacts underserved communities in California.

Born and raised in New York City, Gil received his BA in Government from Harvard University, and his JD from Stanford Law School.
